What is Thumri - Article by Buddhaditya

What is Thumri - Article by Buddhaditya

What is Thumri?

The basic meaning of Thumri is, the expressional part of Indian classical music, according to my Guruji Pandit Shree Samaresh Chowdhury Sahib, Thumri is having a special equation, with the help of rhythmic patterns, words plus expression is equal to divine emotions, we all know emotion is the basic fundamental truth of Indian classical music then why Thumri is more important?

In layman's language we can divide Indian classical music into 4 parts, the first part is, dhrupad and dhamar sangeet, we can say this is the part of classical music where we Express our divine emotions or I should say we Express and praise the love witch we have for the divine, but we do all this things maintaining some strict grammatical rules of Indian classical music, then we are introduced To Khayal gayaki, basically which we recognise as Indian classical singing, in this method we Express our divine love emotional love anger everything in dhrupad sangeet we are not allowed to express our human emotions, in Khayal gayaki we Express our human emotions which guides us towards divine energy, the grammatical rules are there but that is not so strict in Khayal gayaki, then we are introduced to Thumri Gayaki, regarding this method we are thankful to Nawab Wajid Ali Shah.

Thumri is the way where we express our emotional love, Thumri is more connected with human society, at last we are introduced to bhajans, where we express our divine love only when we sing Thumri, grammatical rules are not important at all it means the grammatical rules regarding classical Ragas is not so important but the dedication of singer towards the divine love of Shri Radha and Shri Krishna is very important, when we sing bhajan we don't have any grammatical rules but we just enjoy the divine bliss, I hope you all will enjoy this information, if I have done any mistake while writing this message and while giving the informations, I ask forgiveness front of my elder musicians,

Sharing Musical Notes - Article by Buddhaditya

Sharing Musical Notes - Article by Buddhaditya

 Jai Shri Mataji to all.

Welcoming you all in this WhatsApp group, where we will try to enhance our self with the Waves of musical notations, what is the meaning of Sahaj classical notes?

The meaning of Sahaj is spontaneous, and it proves that classical music is itself spontaneous, in this WhatsApp group we will talk and spread the knowledge about classical music the music which was heard in the time of Vedic yoga, the music which was recognised by the Pandit as the music of Shyam Veda, the music which was performed by Mian Tansen, the music which we listen to Dey performed by Pandit Ravishankar, we are here to extract the honey of that particular music, now I should tell you the inspiration behind this WhatsApp group?

My spiritual Guru Sakshat Adishakti Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi has told us, the only music which should be recognised by the Indians is Indian classical music, in India who are encouraged by the Indian culture, they all have a believe that the sentence of Guru or the sentence of Master is a last verdict for the disciples, so the sentence of my Guru that Indian classical music is the path and Indian classical music is the destination is Maha Mantra for my life, unfortunately at the current time, we have forgotten the words of Hazrat Mohammad, where he said, the only purpose of music should be To Praise The God, music is not for the entertainment of our mind and body, the purpose of music or the purpose of Indian classical music is to give inner peace to our spirit, which will guide us towards the kingdom of God.

I am fortunate enough that the great classical master Pandit Shri Samaresh Choudhary Sahab has accepted me as a disciple many years back, since then I am fortunate enough to get the opportunity to understand the mathematics and the beautiful architecture of Indian classical music, so my honorable master Pandit Samaresh Chowdhury also the inspiration for this WhatsApp group now I should tell you the name of the person, who is the main inspiration behind this WhatsApp group my honorable mother, my master of music, who has given me eternal music lessons, and my dearest loving mother, Mrs Shikha Saxena I am here to pay my respect to all these great souls, let's start the journey towards the kingdom of God, let's start the journey towards the kingdom of notations, let's starts the journey towards the kingdom of detached love of music.

With sincere regards and lots of love,

The purpose of the Musical whatsapp group?

Point 4, many great musicians will be added in this WhatsApp group to give us knowledge about Indian classical music I hope we all will be able to pay enough respect towards the musicians, we all will be asking questions,
Point 5, Many young students of music will be added in this group, all the young students will share their views about Indian classical music which is very important, not only that the young students will try to give answers which will be asked by the music lovers, because if we are learning something from our master or Guruji, we should try to share the knowledge,
Point 6, we are not here to promote any spiritual group, we will just try to experience the bliss of Indian classical music.

The basic rules and regulations of this WhatsApp group?

point 1, please please please don't do general chatting in this group, this group is not for good morning and good evening, we have many more WhatsApp groups where we can do chatting we can share jokes and we can share our views in this group we are here to worship our spirit only,

point number 2, we all know there are two aspects of Indian classical music, first is spiritual and second is technical, we cannot ignore any of them, we all know the followers of Nirmala Devi is recognised as Sahaja Yogi so obviously because I am the follower of that same principle, Many music lovers who are the followers of that same principle will be added in this WhatsApp group, basically we have to spread the Indian classical music among the yuvashakti, but for technical aspects when we will add many musicians, it's not necessary that they all will follow our spiritual method, so every spiritual method should be respected in this WhatsApp group but when we will talk about the technical aspect of music then we will be projecting our attention towards technicality, but when we will be talking about the spiritual aspect of music then we will be projecting our attention towards Sahaja Yoga.

point number three, if anyone will add new members in this group then please understand don't add those persons who are nothing to do with music, if a person is not a musician then that is not a problem, it's not necessary that a music lover should understand everything about music even a music lover can say that I don't know anything about music but I love music, but there are many persons who don't know anything about music but they just do fun with music, this kind of people are not welcomed in this WhatsApp group, so before adding any new member please think twice, otherwise it will create problem for all of us,

point number 4, whatever I have said that is not my instruction, that is my request front of you all, who am I to give instructions?

with sincere regards,

What is bhajan? Article by Buddhaditya

What is Bhajan? Article by Buddhaditya

Bhajan is the devotional part of Indian classical music we believe devotion is the starting point of Indian classical music and devotion is the ending point of Indian classical music, because Indian classical has started with the help of dhrupad sangeet, which is devotional, and Indian classical ends with bhajan sangeet, which is also devotional, the basic equation of bhajan is, words plus emotion is equal to divine vibration.

In bhajan Sangeet we try to dedicate ourselves towards the divine energy, grammatical rules the Shastra of classical Ragas the basic rhythmic pattern and other things are not important but the poetry is most important, when we sing a bhajan, we try to do justice to the poetry using different notations and classical Ragas, while singing the bhajan Sangeet if we will use various kind of grammatical techniques of Indian classical music but still if we don't do justice to the poetry properly, then the purpose of bhajan Sangeet is destroyed.

There are many layers of bhajans, the composition can be dependent on classical aspects, we have heard this kind of Bhajan from Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, we have heard special bhajan Sangeet gayaki from Subha Lakshmi Iyer, we have heard special bhajan gayak he in a Commercial way, with the help of the bhajan Samrat Mr Anup Jelota, in this type of singing we can find the essence of Indian classical music as well as the commercial aspect also, but now for last 20 years we are introduced to one kind of special bhajan Gaya ki where the commercial aspect is very high, in this kind of bhajan singing we can feel the colours of Bollywood music, the bhajan of Mr Sanjay Roshan Talwar which I have shared now in this group, that is very close to Bollywood singing.

Raga Ahir Bhairav" by my Ustad Naseer Ahmed Khan ji

Pt Ravi Shankar Explanations on Raag

Pt Ravi Shankar Explanations on Raag

Buddhaditya says:

Pandit Ravi Shankar is explaining about classical Raga, I have a special connection with the great Sitar Maestro Pandit Ravishankar, I am the disciple of Pandit Samaresh Chowdhury and Pandit Samaresh Chowdhury is one of the oldest disciple of Pandit Ravishankar since 1980, it means Pandit Ravi Shankar Ji is my Param Guru Ji, I am feeling nostalgic after listening this audio .

What is Classical Raga?

Classical Raga is not a scale or it is not a particular mood, classical Raga is the human version of the divine music, Indian classical music is based on 12 notes, 7 should Swara and 5 vikrit Swara, total 12 notes, using this notation system we have 72 melakarta, letter on Pandit Vishnu Narayan bhatkhande Ji has established particular 10 basic skeletons who represents the Indian classical music or Hindustani Shastriya Sangeet, classical Ragas are the child of these 10 particular skeletons, one classical Raga includes some particular notes of those 12 notations, but the notations of every Raga is different, it means by rotating the 12 notations all the Raga has been created, it's a great mathematics of those 12 notations, I believe classical is the divine mathematics, all the classical Raga has particular notations, but those particular notes should be used with some particular combinations process, this is the basic knowledge of classical Raga, but classical Raga is the dead child but when a musician performs the classical Raga using all the grammatical method of particular combination process and particular notations, then that classical Raga becomes a human being with the help of different alankarams all the ornaments of classical music, I hope you all will enjoy this information, with sincere regards
